Sufi work encompasses the myriad of activities in which the pupil or murid engages under the guidance of his or her sheikh. Often, a key element of Sufi work is service – the vocation to serve your teacher, the path, your fellow travellers and ultimately the universal essence or God.

The purpose of such work is self-knowledge, a process that manifests itself in very different ways depending on the needs and qualities of the individual pupil.
